Target in Four Peaks Plaza will open its doors at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Thanksgiving, Nov. 24, for the third consecutive year to kick off the holiday season in earnest.

The spokesman for the retailer said that it’s bringing back several promotions that pushed its comparable sales higher last Christmas, including rotating deals on certain categories stretching across 10 days.

Stores will remain open until 10 p.m. Black Friday.

Target stuck with its 6 p.m. opening time after studying the response from its customers and workers, as well as the impact on its business, said Janna Potts, Target’s chief stores officer.

“Shopping on the evening of Thanksgiving really has become an activity for the entire family to enjoy,” she said.

For those who prefer to stay at home, the retailer will launch its deals on Target.com early Thanksgiving morning.

Target is repeating last season's free shipping promotion, and extending the offer an extra week. That deal eliminates the minimum spending requirement shoppers need to hit to receive their package at no charge.

Two other national-brand stores in the shopping center, The Dollar Tree and Bealls Outlet, will close on Thanksgiving.

Sears Hometown

Sears HomeTown Store will be open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, a store spokesman said.

The store is located at 13212 N. Saguaro Blvd., suite 104.

Hours on Black Friday, Nov. 25, will be 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
