As I understand it, the Tea Party was formed to confront excess government spending which was contributing to an increasing national debt. Okay, I get that – seems reasonable to me. However, when the latest GOP tax reform plan is projected to add $1.7 trillion to the national debt, the Tea Party seems to have gone silent.
What gives? Where is the outrage? Please don’t tell me that decreased taxes will stimulate growth and result in enough increased revenue to offset this projected debt, as I have followed history and, most recently, the plan in Kansas that fell flat on its face. So please, Tea Party, go public with what should be a major issue for you. So far, your silence has been deafening.
