This month’s meeting will open with former State Representative Jonathan Paton, who will discuss Prop 122. Prop 122 is an attempt to amend the Arizona Constitution and resist efforts by the federal government to mandate the implementation of programs but have the state’s taxpayers pay for them.

The feature event will be discussion with both the Republican and Democrat running to be the next state senator for this district.

Representative John Kavanagh (R) will join in a forum with Paula Pennypacker (D). This promises to be a lively exchange of ideas and plans for the State Senate.

The format for this forum will be: 1] Opening comments from each candidate (2 minutes); 2] Questions from the audience. Each question answered by both candidates. Answers limited to 2 minutes (but it may go to a lightning round of one-minute answers). 3] Closing comments from each candidate (3 minutes).

The order of opening comments will be by random draw. First person to give opening comments will be the second one to give closing comments. Answers to questions will alternate between candidates.

The Fountain Hills AZ Tea Party (www.fhteaparty.org) meets at the Fountain Hills School District Learning Center (northeast corner of Palisades and Golden Eagle boulevards). Admission is free.

Donations to offset expenses are gratefully welcomed. All interested parties are welcome to come, listen, learn, ask questions and bring a friend.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Attendance is always free and donations are appreciated. For additional information visit: www.FHTeaParty.org.
