Fountain Hills tennis was scheduled to play against ASU Prep on April 2 but the match was canceled.

The squad only had one match again this week against Arizona College Prep. The match was yesterday, April 9, at home.

Head coach Ted Trippett said that Cicero Prep’s girls team had to forfeit the match because they only had one female player.

Rori Wilson went head to head with the lone Cicero Prep player and won the match in two sets, 6-2 and 6-1.

On the boys team, recent transfer Austin Berns continues to shine with his second win and the new doubles pair of Kyle Richardson and Andrei Urda proved to be a force to be reckoned with.

In the singles event, Richardson lost his match in the ones spot, 6-1 and 6-0.

Urda won in the twos position after coming back from losing the first set; 1-6, 7-5 and 10-7.

Berns, playing in the three spot, won his match in two sets, 6-1 and 6-2.

In the doubles event the team of Richardson and Urda beat the Cicero team 8-2.

Looking forward to the team’s last few matches before the conclusion of the season, Trippett said he hopes to see the team finish strong.

“Both teams finish the season with three tough matches and are looking forward to the challenge,” Trippett said.
