Thaddeus Jerome Schwaba was born February 28, 1950, in Chicago, IL, and died April 16, 2026, in Fountain Hills, AZ. He passed away after a long illness with Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD), a rare neurodegenerative disease. He is now at peace with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Todd was a kind, intelligent, distinguished man. He was a wonderful mentor to his coworkers, family and friends. He was there to listen, lend a helping hand or give someone advice. He left a lasting impression on all that had the privilege of knowing him.
He graduated from Loyola Academy and Marquette University. He loved golfing, hiking, hosting parties, cooking and walking the family Mini Schnauzers Buddy, Heidi and Molly. Through the years we resided in Libertyville, IL, Waukesha, WI, Charlotte, NC, Jacksonville, FL, and 22 years in Fountain Hills, AZ. He also loved going to our cabin in Munds Park, AZ.
Todd retired from Gibraltar Industries, Building Products Division, as Vice President Sales and Marketing in 2015.
Todd spent his last two years at MorningStar Assisted Living in Fountain Hills. We thank them and Suncrest Hospice for their excellent care during his illness.
He is survived by his wife Linda, stepsons David Kiel (Jill) Glen Ellyn, IL and Jeffery Kiel (Kathy Cohen) Scottsdale, AZ. Four grandchildren Daniel, Emma, Cooper and Audrey. Three sisters Kathleen Barton (Dick), Joan McGeean (Bill) and Liz Ifkowitsch and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thaddeus Schwaba, Sr. and Ann Hillmann Schwaba, sister Marianne Murphy, Bob Murphy and Alex Ifkowitsch.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary on May 8th from 6-8 PM with a Scripture service at 7:00 PM. and a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Community in Scottsdale at 11:00 a.m. May 9th.
