As we said our final goodbyes to Chief LaGreca at a beautiful memorial service, we were saddened at the loss of our friend and mentor, but we are also very grateful to be part of such a great town.

The Fountain Hills Rural/Metro Fire Department extends our sincerest thanks to the entire Fountain Hills community for stepping up over the past few weeks.

A special thank you to Mayor Linda Kavanagh for her kind words at the memorial; Vice Mayor Tait Elkie for capturing the video of chief being transported to Messinger Mortuary; the entire Town Council and town staff for their great support.

We are also grateful to the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church for the excellent venue; Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church for the use of their parking lot; the Fountain Hills Unified School District for the additional chairs; the Dennis Contino family for the golf carts from Discover Mobility; and the Maricopa County Sherriff’s Office for the traffic control and parking assistance.

So many people and organizations provided the personal touches to make Chief LaGreca’s memorial so special.

On behalf of the entire Fountain Hills Rural/Metro Fire Department, thank you.
