We’ve all heard the expression, “All good things must come to an end.” That thought comes to our minds when we consider the long and meritorious terms that the amazing, caring Ginny Dickey has served here in Fountain Hills as, first, two full four-year terms on our School Board, and secondly, two full four-year terms on our Town Council. As the year 2015 arrives, Ginny Dickey completes her local political journey.
Never has Ginny Dickey shrunk from her responsibilities as a public official. Even when confronted by a possible recall while serving on our Town Council, Ginny refused to change her position on the controversial “garbage collection” issue.
We both felt Ginny’s pain as she persevered during the recall efforts. We weren’t surprised when the recall committee could not secure sufficient numbers of signatures. Throughout the ordeal, Ginny held her head high and maintained her dignity.

We both believe that the “test of time” has clearly shown that Ginny Dickey was correct from “day one” in her stand in favor of one trash-collection company serving our community. Yet, Ginny would never take on an “I told you so” attitude. That simply is not her style!
Throughout her tours of duty to both our School Board and Town Council, Ginny Dickey has consistently supported any motion that would provide for an improved school district or provide for a better Fountain Hills. She has always carried out her duties with humility, never seeking personal acclaim, but always looking for any opportunity to bring improvements to our town.
Ginny has consistently displayed positive qualities such as intelligence, courage, a willingness, when necessary, to negotiate, and…most of all …a genuine love for Fountain Hills.
We strongly believe that because of the numerous contributions of the very determined and dedicated Ginny Dickey, our Town of Fountain Hills has grown closer to becoming a “Shining Star” in the great state of Arizona!
