As Fountain Hills moves toward the next mayoral election, we will see a change in leadership as incumbent Mayor Linda Kavanagh will not seek reelection. What is upsetting to me is the first letter, and I hope the last, criticizing several of the mayor’s decisions over her tenure.
This lady decided to govern our town over the past years, first elected in 2012. Though we the residents of Fountain Hills may have differing opinions regarding Mayor Kavanagh’s decisions, let’s thank her for her selfless decision to serve.
I served the mayor as a member of the Public Safety Commission. During that short tenure I found her open to meeting with me and discussing issues I felt important. Mayor Kavanagh listened and offered her suggestions based on her experience in serving our community, all with respect for the individual sitting in her office.

I, for one, thank Linda Kavanagh for her service to my town. And please remember, it is her town also.
