Thanks, Ron!

If anyone in Fountain Hills has earned a retirement, it’s longtime Sanitary District manager Ron Huber. He apparently agrees, with this month being his last at that position.

Huber announced earlier this year his plans to retire, bringing a 30-year career in the local Sanitary District to a close. As reported in this week’s Times, Huber has been in Fountain Hills since nearly the beginning and has helped guide his staff through some big transitions around Fountain Hills.

Beginning his tenure back in 1986, Huber stepped into a position his predecessor made sound like a breeze. Fountain Hills was a pretty sleepy burg at the time, after all, and few were likely prepared for the explosion of growth that came through the 90s.

Looking ahead, Huber will be kept handy in case anyone is in need of his expertise while his successor, Dana Trompke, settles in. The two have been working together for nearly half a year at this point, so we imagine Trompke is ready to roll full steam ahead with the Sanitary District.

So here’s to Huber! Thanks for 30 years of dedication to Fountain Hills and having a hand in creating the community we all know and love. Enjoy your retirement.
