American history tells us that at one time colonists were suffering and prevented from conducting their lives without an oppressive despot. They wanted freedom and needed a Constitution to make sure they kept it.
Documents were drafted, declarations made, a war fought and a high price paid. Our power came from a genuine passion and commitment that beat in the hearts from all Americans. All worked for the single purpose of giving life to those documents.
They sacrificed individually for the greater good of all. America triumphed and built the strongest, wealthiest, freest nation the world has ever known. The “Great American Experiment” was an extraordinary success.

Are we taking a break from our vigilance and protection of the “Great American Experiment?” Have we exposed ourselves to an enemy from within? Can any kind of negligence and weakness insure our safety and security? Is it wise to elect leaders, place them in charge of our liberties, and then not hold them accountable? Can you envision this government policing itself?
May I imply that the majority of Americans have lost their morality, their spirit, their commitment, their fight, their passion and their hunger for Democracy? Aren’t the constitutional violations we’re experiencing potentially fatal? How about calling this neglect of country, “No-Constitutional-Protection-Itis,” and may I further suggest it may be found where America’s spine used to be.
History tells me that power and riches destroy those things that were necessary to create them. Once the strengths of a political system are eliminated, only a hollow shell will remain, and by design will collapse from its own weakness and neglect.
Thomas Paine stated: “The duty of a patriot is to protect his country from its government.” If he is correct, does that make us deserters?
