It’s unfortunate that in today’s world so many jump to conclusions before they know the facts.

People are spreading false information that just grows like a wild fire.

Case in point, the lagoon at Fountain Park. I have had the pleasure of serving on the committee for the lagoon since its inception and I can certainly understand how it may look if you haven’t had that privilege.

The fact of the matter is, this is a committee of concerned citizens who are giving of their time freely to come up with ideas to generate revenue and stimulate activity here in this town we call home. It is not fair to disrespect any of us (here in the paper and on social media) who want nothing more than to have a thriving town with shopping, restaurants, attractions and more; a place where people want to come and spend their money, instead of the other option. Just ask the business owners. Fountain Hills was once known as one of the 50 best places in the country to raise your family. It should be again.

I arrived here on August 2, 1973, a 44-year resident of Fountain Hills. I have seen everything that has come and gone. Some good ideas and some bad, but all with the same intention, the betterment of Fountain Hills.

All I ask is before you make up your mind, please get the facts. There will be a public meeting on the subject very shortly. Come and get the facts, then make up your mind! Watch the paper for announcements.
