Best-selling, award-winning authors and public theologians Diana Butler Bass and Robert P. Jones will present at The Fountains Sunday, Oct. 20 at 9:30 a.m.
As part of their broader “Faith and Democracy Tour,” Bass and Jones will explore a hopeful Christian vision for a multi-racial, multi-faith democracy, according to a press release.
Bass will preach at 9:30 a.m. at The Fountains. He is a historian, public theologian, blogger, podcaster and award-winning author of “Freeing Jesus: Rediscovering Jesus as Friend, Teacher, Savior, Lord, Way, and Presence.”
At 11 a.m., Jones will take taking questions on how to address the threats of white supremacy and Christian nationalism.
Jones is the president and founder of the Public Religion Research Institute and a New York Times best-selling author of “The Hidden Roots of White Supremacy and the Path to a Shared American Future.”
“As we come into the home stretch of the 2024 campaign season, come and be a part of celebrating an authentic Christian faith that supports a clear vision for our future grounded in the diversity of a broad, multi-ethnic, pluralistic democracy,” says The Fountains Pastor David Felten.
The “Faith and Democracy Tour” in Fountain Hills is on Sunday, Oct. 20, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The Fountains is located at 15300 N. Fountain Hills Blvd.
