The Fountains United Methodist Church will welcome the community to ring in the new year with an evening of rhythm and fellowship during a New Year Drum Circle at 5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 10.
The drum circle is led by Fountain Hills resident Skip Cleary, who owns a collection of 17 drums.
During the gatherings, Cleary often brings out one of his “mother drums,” a large instrument standing about three feet tall that helps anchor the rhythm as participants play together. He also shares his collection of drums and rattles, inviting others to join in.
