The development of Adero Canyon won’t solve all the economic and other ills of Fountain Hills, but it will certainly give a shot in the arm to a community that hasn’t seen significant new residential construction in quite a few years.
During the 1990s and into the 2000s, such landmark developments as Eagle Mountain, SunRidge Canyon, FireRock and many other neighborhoods came into existence in Fountain Hills. The sight of yellow earth movers and bulldozers was not an unusual occurrence.

Things changed dramatically by the time the Great Recession hit, however, and the Town of Fountain Hills has undergone a dramatic shift since then.
That’s why it was important for the Town Council to consider and approve the zoning changes requested by MCO Properties for Adero Canyon. Understandably some of the neighbors, most notably those in Cordabella, were opposed to the proposals. As is typically the case, however, we don’t feel the potential negative impacts as outlined by the neighbors will be as severe as they portrayed.
We’re confident that the Adero Canyon development will be one more positive element of Fountain Hills and that its future residents will contribute greatly to the business, cultural, volunteer and educational aspects of our community.
