I needed to respond to a local Democrat leader who supported the exhibition of the Donald Trump wreath in the Community Center because she also criticized our Fountain Hills Republican Club float in the Thanksgiving Parade.
Eight years ago, the club won the prestigious Thanksgiving Parade Award, the theme had been Hollywood Holidays. In that parade we had the same look-alike image of Donald Trump as we had this year. In 2016 our banner read, “Mr. Trump Goes to Washington.” This year, after well over half the nation were called “garbage” by the sitting President, we followed our future president, Donald Trump’s performance of riding in a garbage truck with our own rendition. President Trump was unavailable to ride with us in person!
First of all, it was an ignorant statement to judge over half the population of the USA as garbage but as they say, “Sticks and stones… etc.” So, we kept a smile on our faces, like so many in the audience who watched the parade. The majority on the parade route applauded, cheered or performed the popular Trump dance. It was Thanksgiving, and like so many Americans we were so thankful for the future of this country, that the Socialist agenda had been defeated in a landslide election at the polls and thus we’re excited that we are going to “Make American Great Again.”
