The late John Cutillo honored by Fountain Hills council

Fountain Hills’s first mayor

When Fountain Hills resident John Cutillo passed away last month, he was remembered as the town’s first mayor and a man instrumental in getting incorporation passed for the community.

On June 4, the Town Council further honored Cutillo with the designation of Dec. 5, as John Cutillo Day in Fountain Hills from this day forward.

A proclamation read by Mayor Ginny Dickey states that Cutillo served as mayor from 1990 until 1996 during which time he “oversaw the creation of an administrative structure, the transfer of county services to local jurisdiction, the paving of roads, the building of parks and the establishment of numerous public services and amenities.”
