OPINION — Unfortunately, the River of Time Museum and Exploration Center has been given an eviction notice. Despite not missing a single rent payment, the Alan Cruikshank River of Time Museum and Exploration Center has been told to vacate the premises by the landlord, the Town of Fountain Hills. For a number of years, the museum has provided a cultural and historical lesson about the Verde and Salt Rivers and the lower Verde River Valley and our neighbors of the Yavapai Nation.
Imagine the combined ticket between the Dark Sky Discovery Center and the museum, which would have caused visitors to stay that much longer in Fountain Hills and probably enjoy at least one meal in one of the town's restaurants. That will not happen now, if the town follows through with evicting the museum.
What will happen to this history and the artifacts? Don't know, but most likely they will not be available for residents or visitors or for school students who want to know more about the region where they live.
