Allen Skillicorn and his cohorts campaigned on fixing our roads. Since taking a seat on the Town Council last January, he and his running mates have stripped the budget of everything they deemed unnecessary, often with the excuse that these projects could be put off a year or two while we use the money to fix our roads.
Yet, the maintenance schedule for roads hasn’t changed. The professional estimate is $60 million, nowhere near the amount that was removed from the budget. The Streets Committee recommended trying to pass a bond. Where is the plan for how we are going to fix our roads?

Allen Skillicorn and his cohorts campaigned on fixing our roads. At least two council members (Toth and Skillicorn) refer to themselves under the banner of America First on social media, a group that calls for dismantling the Department of Education and the effectual elimination of all state and local income taxes. Witness the loss of town revenue from the rental property tax. Quite a hit for the town budget, but Skillicorn’s response is to end it sooner! School bond support? They don’t want to talk about it.
They’ve been good at the destructive part of their plan, but where is the benefit to the town? Where’s the plan to at least fix the roads?
