The outrage has been a ‘maskuerade’

The Fountain Hills Community Center currently is a festive centerpiece of holiday spirit, collaboratively created by the town and local organizations. Of the 25 groups represented, 24 respected the town’s “commitment to ensure the Community Center is a welcoming space for all.” The outlier: the Fountain Hills Republican Club (FHRC).

The FHRC knows that a tree of “Trump Take America Back” flags (decorated by a nonresident) isn’t welcoming to many. I suspect that its divisiveness is the appeal. Walk through the Center and you’ll know which groups beautifully represent themselves, the holidays and Fountain Hills, and which do not.

Republicans’ feigned “outrage” is a “maskuerade.” Think about their defamatory political signs, social media screeds and discriminatory legislation. They’re uncomfortable here with the facts displayed on the Halloween-style rubber mask: hush money, falsified records, racketeering, defamation, obstruction of justice, fraud, withholding of documents, 37 felonies, sexual assault and more.
