I recently moved to Arizona from cold, dreary Pennsylvania. I enjoy the Fountain Hills Preserve by CopperWynd resort. It is beautiful, peaceful and pristine.
However, this natural environment may be destroyed as developer MCO has offered to speed up opening access to the Fountain Hills Preserve on Eagle Ridge Drive if the town approves big zoning concessions regarding Adero Canyon.
The Planning Commission recently refused to endorse their plan, citing numerous concerns about the increased density the changes entail. Soon Town Council will consider the matter.

My question is this: if the town of Fountain Hills already owns the land for Eagle Ridge Drive, why don’t they just build a trail to the preserve on it? It all seems so simple. I don’t see any valid reason why anyone would object.
Also, why do we tolerate the current private gate at the end of Eagle Ridge Drive? Eagle Ridge Drive is public property! This gate should be opened for pedestrian use and the trail developed for the benefit of everyone in Fountain Hills.
