Fountain Hills Theater opened Jan. 25 (though Feb. 10) with the musical, “The Producers.” Music and lyrics by Mel Brooks and directed by Peter J. Hill; I highly recommend this production.

It is an outrageous, laugh-out-loud farce and watch for the dance of the “walkers.” Outstanding. Broadway Producer Max Bialystock needs to get back on top of his profession and finds an unlikely cohort in accountant Leo Bloom.

They decide they can make more money with a flop and set out to find one. They want the worst musical, the worst script, the worst director, played by Patrick Russo, and the worst cast available. They want to raise a lot of money, which they will keep when the show flops.

The entire cast is outstanding but Scott Hyder as Max, Michael Stewart as Leo and Patrick Russo are a total hit!

This will sell out, so get your tickets fast. Also, The gala benefit, Broadway in the Hills, is Saturday, Feb. 16; A Night of Bollywood. There will be dancers, music, great food and a silent auction! See you at the theater.
