The recent opinions on the extension of hours for the medical marijuana dispensary in Fountain Hills looked more like an early campaign ad for the uninformed voters in Arizona.
The pro-Kavanagh followers need to turn on their computers and Google “Medical Marijuana Facts vs. Fiction” and get the real truth about the values of medical marijuana.
Over the past 20 years, the Israel scientific and medical research community has done the most extensive research in the use of medical marijuana ever produced. The use of medical marijuana treatment has become popular and accepted in Israel, with about 15,000 registered users and 50 more approved each week by the Health Ministry for treatment of illnesses ranging from Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, epilepsy seizures/migraines, nausea/ chemotherapy and the terminally ill, only to mention a few.

My husband of 20 years was diagnosed with leukemia about one year ago. He underwent three rounds of chemotherapy and finally a bone marrow transplant saved his life.
Most of the cancer treating drugs dispensed by the medical community had violent side effects. The drugs provided had no real relief from the horrible side effects of the cancer drugs. Medical marijuana could have been a blessing for my family and for millions of other families across the United States.
These are just some of the real truths about medical marijuana and the help it offers the seriously ill and the terminally ill.
Making it harder for the sick and dying, who struggle every day but continue to go to their 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. jobs, is just plain inhumane and unChristian.
Yes, the residents of Fountain Hills do want to help the sick and dying live a better life, even if it means extending the hours of our medical marijuana clinic! I will be voting in the next election for the councilpersons who supported this humane action.
