As a student of the Technology Learning Center (TLC) program I am hopeful that the Community Center will reconsider the reimplementation of this important activity for all of the seniors in our community.
The Journal/American Medical Association (JAMA) recently published a comprehensive study that confirmed the importance of keeping the kinds of seniors active and stimulated. One of the examples cited was computer use.

With all of the other programs available at the Center, it seems to my wife and I that the Computer Learning Center should be near the top of the list. The JAMA study has demonstrated the benefits of the stimulation of the brain of seniors during the use of the computer. Computer use was listed as the number one benefit to our brains. We seem to find money for other activities. Surely something as important as encouraging the use of 21st century information is paramount, in our minds, to keep the seniors active and productive.
The people that have tirelessly prepared and delivered week after week this valuable service need to be encouraged and supported by the continued implementation of this program.
Our thanks to the following people for their dedication and work in bringing these tired minds into the new world: Ellen Castleman, Martha and Ralph Craner, Cathy Fischer, Judy Goetz, Larry Lardie, Kathy Mullin, Gail Pape, Marilyn Thomas and Charlene Selesnick.
