There is a better choice in Fountain Hills

OPINION —  The record is clear! Gerry Friedel and his likeminded council members have a great list of accomplishments while on the town council. He must be proud. He shouldn’t be. Let's review.

1. They removed the table used by our newspaper journalist for no real reason. Harassment?
2. They first cancelled the residents' voice to speak in the public forum, the council meeting, then brought it back at the end of the meetings, which discourages people from using that option.
3. Friedel defamed a citizen, requiring paying that citizen a settlement and cleverly stuck the town with legal fees.
4. Friedel proudly supports the excitement of Sprouts coming to town, but voted against the redevelopment of the Target parcel that is the genesis of it.
5. Signs! Who doesn't want more signs? Friedel has led the charge, at every opportunity, to increase the signs. Businesses love it. Politicians love it. Our property values won’t.
6. Huge savings in law enforcement budget! Oops, Friedel didn't have anything to do with it, but his comments suggested otherwise.
7. Always supports the town in legal issues, except when the town was sued regarding petitions found to be invalid. Town was innocent, no thanks to Friedel.
8. They took care of unethical behavior by eliminating our ethics code.
9. They declared English the official language of our town.
