On a clear Saturday morning in February, brightly colored bocce balls roll across the courts at the Sunset Kiwanis Building in Fountain Hills.
Celebrating the third annual “Super Bocce Bowl” tournament, the Fountain Hills Italian Interest Group (FHIIG) welcomed nearly 20 club members and friends to a friendly competition Saturday, Feb. 8.
A simple game that found its current form in ancient Rome, competitors attempt to throw their bocce balls closest to a small white ball, also known as the “Pallino.”
