“The Artists’ Gallery has really done a fantastic job of adding creativity to its monthly receptions with entertaining themes and fantastic art,” says gallery manager and artist Margaret Sullivan.
Two raffles will be held during the evening reception for a chance to win a NFL Super Bowl team jersey. You may enter your chance to win the raffle beginning Jan. 2.
Featured artists that evening include Arlon Sieve, photography; Mike Isenberg, digital photography; Julia Patterson, pastels; and Dana Wildman, jewelry.
Sieve is an avid photography buff. He has traveled to all seven continents and has taken thousands of pictures in many beautiful places.
The colorful desert southwest has been a wonderful experience for his photography.
After 30 years of creating fine art photography, the most important lesson Isenberg learned was to follow his creative urges.
While on a European vacation, he became enthralled with the impressionists and post-impressionists with their mixing of bold strokes and colors, as well the feeling of light they were able to achieve. He began to experiment with and then converted totally to digital photography.
Soft pastels make Patterson “as giddy as a child with a new pack of Crayons.” Far messier than Crayons, their tactile nature is a key part of what engages her about the medium.
“Coming to pastel from the world of watercolor, I was agog at the immediate gratification of pure, vibrant color,” she said.
Wildman has taken the unique art of wire wrapping “Earths Treasures” to a new art form by combining precious and semi-precious stones and gems that enhance everyone’s collection of wearable art.
She offers her clients the opportunity to purchase one of her finished wrapped art pieces or to custom design a special piece of their own. The design, wrapping and choice of materials are endless.
