Tiegan Hoffman is sell-ing some patriotic art to raise funds for the Sunshine Acres Children’s Home.
Tiegan Hoffman, eighth grade student at BASIS Scottsdale and a 12-year resident of Fountain Hills, was inspired by a few painted pallets she saw while traveling through Northern Arizona and Utah.
She was not able to participate in Christ’s Church of Fountain Hills’ summer camp this year, where they focused on raising funds for Arizona’s foster care system and Sunshine Acres, so she came up with a way she could still help.
Tiegan asked ACE Hardware for some of their wood pallets that were just sitting out back ready to be thrown out or broken down and they told her she could help herself. In return for their kindness, Tiegan has purchased all of her paint supplies from ACE Hardware. She has painted and decorated recycled pallets and a chair with the American flag.

According to Tiegan she knows the political season is just around the corner and hopes her art work will inspire unity and not division in the community.
“Presidential elections can create a lot of political division and tension,” she said.
“All of this can divide our country into two big groups, but we would be stronger if we pulled together as one. The American flag represents this country as a whole; our past, present and our future. I am hoping to remind people we are greater as one and we can all agree we love America, so this next year let’s keep it real.”
Tiegan’s artwork doesn’t have any political message behind it and she does not belong to any political group.
“I’m only 13, give me a few years to think about it,” she said.
“I’m truly undecided.”
Tiegan’s aunt, Cathy Cadwallader, has graciously agreed to display her work at Recycled Home located at 16716 E. Palisades Bld. Tiegan wants the community to know they can pay more than the posted price if they are inspired by Tiegan’s message. All proceeds will be donated to Sunshine Acres Children’s Home in Mesa, which is a non-profit organization, and funds are tax deductible.
Sunshine Acres’ mission is to provide a loving, wholesome, Christian home for children who are separated from their parents and help them establish long-term relationships with stable parental figures, preparing them for success in adult life. More information can be found at sunshineacres.org.
“Helping Sunshine Acres Children’s Home, everyone can vote yes for that,” Tiegan added.
Tiegan’s work is now available and she is hoping a fraternal or political club or a local business may appreciate the message of “Unity” and will consider making a donation. For more information, contact Recycled Home at 836-8811.
