Time for retirement

On Aug.1, 2017, I will be retiring as district manager of the Sanitary District after 30 years in that position. Much has happened during that 30 years; sludge disposal issues, what to do with effluent, and odor issues, to name a few. It is not often that an engineer gets to see the transformation of a sanitary district and wastewater treatment facility from what it was in 1986 to what it is today.

You will be in good hands with my successor, Dana Trompke. She will be facing issues ranging from expansion as a result of the State Trust Land and maintenance and/or replacement of aging sewer lines in some areas of the district. You can rest assured that issues that arise will be handled in a most professional way.

I want to thank my staff for all of their hard work because without them, we could not have accomplished what we did. I also want to thank the residents of Fountain Hills for giving me the opportunity to ensure that when they flushed their toilets, everything flowed downhill. After all, your flush was my bread and butter. Thanks!
