Fountain Hills Toastmasters Club recently elected new officers for 2016-17.
Club President is Tim Noble, ACB, ALB; Vice President Education Matt Gurtatowski; VP Membership Clayton Corey; VP Public Relations Janet Scaggs; Secretary Ann Dausch; Treasurer Doug Houle, DTM; and Sargent-at-Arms Tom Lindsey.
The club is inviting residents to its ribbon cutting and open house to meet members and learn about Toastmasters.
“Fountain Hills Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills,” says Tim Noble, Club President for Toastmasters 6993.
Following the FH Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, guests will enjoy free food, door prizes and a ‘demo’ Toastmasters meeting that will include a prepared speech, Table Topics (impromptu speeches) and evaluations.
“Table Topics are one of my favorite parts of the meeting,” said club member Matt Gurtatowski. “Table Topics is a long-standing Toastmasters tradition intended to help members develop their ability to organize their thoughts quickly and respond to an impromptu question or topic.”
The Fountain Hills Toastmasters ribbon cutting and open house is Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 9624 N. Monterey Drive, VFW Post 7507, Fountain Hills from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Free Refreshments at 5:30 p.m. and a Toastmasters Demo Meeting at 5:50 p.m. The regular weekly FH Toastmasters meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
