Tonto forest to host fee-free dates this year

Tonto National Forest will waive fees at day-use sites for seven dates during 2018.

The fee waiver program is in cooperation with other federal management agencies under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act.

Day-use fees will be waived although camping and campground fees will not be.

Tonto forest to host fee-free dates this year

Tonto National Forest will waive fees at day-use sites for seven dates during 2018.

The fee waiver program is in cooperation with other federal management agencies under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act.

Day-use fees will be waived although camping and campground fees will not be.

The first date was Monday, Jan. 15, Martin Luther King Day. The other fee-waived dates are Feb. 19, President’s Day; June 9, National Get Outdoors Day; Sept. 22, National Public Lands Day; Nov. 10-11, Veterans Day; and Nov. 23, Opt Outside Day.
