Town Council approves service agreement in Fountain Hills

Maintenance, repairs for doors

Posted

The Fountain Hills Town Council approved a modification to a professional services agreement the town has with D.H. Pace for handling maintenance and repairs on doors for town facilities.

Public Works Director Justin Weldy explained that the town has about 350 doors in its facilities ranging from fire station roll-up doors to coded access control doors that must be maintained. He said town facilities staff monitors the maintenance and repair needs and if there is something they cannot handle themselves they reach out to the vendor to do the work. The town has had the current PSA with Pace since 2019 and staff is satisfied with the work.

The agreement is through 1 Government Procurement Alliance (1GPA), and Weldy said there were nine vendors who bid on the current agreement. He said 1GPA tailors agreements regionally across the U.S., and Fountain Hills participates in the Arizona agreement specific to the temperature extremes and dusty climate.

The existing agreement allows for up to $150,000 per year, however, this change specifically provides for the town to use an unincumbered balance of $49,000 available to staff for the maintenance and repair services.
