Town installs new school safety signs

The Town of Fountain Hills has funded and installed a new set of flashing school zone signals in the area of Fountain Hills Middle School.

There are two signal poles in each direction along Fountain Hills Boulevard. The southbound direction that comes off McDowell Mountain Road into Fountain Hills has placed the advanced light in the curve that heads out of Town, giving motorists a little extra warning of the approaching school zone.

The project cost was $45,696 and included the four poles, foundations, hardware, signs and pavement painting. The crosswalk at Fountain Hills and Glenbrook boulevards has been repainted.

The Town of Fountain Hills has funded and installed a new set of flashing school zone signals in the area of Fountain Hills Middle School.

There are two signal poles in each direction along Fountain Hills Boulevard. The southbound direction that comes off McDowell Mountain Road into Fountain Hills has placed the advanced light in the curve that heads out of Town, giving motorists a little extra warning of the approaching school zone.

The speed limit within a school zone is 15 miles per hour.
