The Town of Fountain Hills will hold a primary election on Tuesday, Aug. 4, to elect a mayor and three council member seats. In the event that no candidate receives a majority vote, a runoff election will be held in conjunction with the General Election on Nov. 3.
The mayor will serve a two-year term while council members serve four-year terms. Those interested in running for office can find candidate packets through the town clerk’s office. Candidates are required to file a statement of interest prior to completing and filing nomination papers, financial disclosure statements and collecting petition signatures.
To qualify, candidates must be at least 18 years or older, a qualified elector at time of filing, and have resided in Fountain Hills for at least one year immediately preceding the election.
