SCHOOL SALE

Town of Fountain Hills has little interest in former Four Peaks school building

Might consider purchase for land

Voters made the decision Nov. 7 as to whether the Fountain Hills Unified School District will be authorized to sell the old Four Peaks School building and the surrounding property.

The Town Council had a discussion Nov. 2 to consider any interest the town might have in the property, and the message was mixed, but clear. While it will depend on an ultimate appraisal and the potential cost, the council did indicate an interest in obtaining the land to expand the existing, adjacent Four Peaks Park.

There seems to be virtually no interest on the part of the council to use the structure, so demolition would be an additional cost consideration.
