Town offers summer activities

Little Chefs
Children as young as five can learn cooking basics in “Little Chefs,” a course that is held Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The “Little Chef” classes are $110 for the four-week class. The first class starts June 7 and is for children five to seven.
Junior Chefs
Like the “Little Chefs” class only a little more advanced. Children seven to 15 will learn recipes and preparation methods for various food from around the world. The cost is $110 for each session. Classes are 5:30 to 7 p.m. starting Tuesday, June 7.
Chef camps
“Little Chefs” and “Junior Chefs” will have day camps offered Monday through Friday beginning July 11. Cost is $110 for the week. Four sessions of camp are offered.
Summer Games
Fountain Hills Activity Center is offering a place to play games every Thursday from June 9 through 28. Players will choose their own games, including checkers, chess, Cranium, charades, Chinese checkers and more. No membership is required. Activities, which are open from 11:30 to 1 p.m. are free and open to the public. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Root beer floats will be provided each week.

*Jewelry Making, Wednesdays, July 13-Aug. 3, 6:15-8:15 p.m., $70. Ages 16 and up.
*Paint Workshop: Oil and Acrylics, Thursdays, June 9-July 7 and Aug. 4-Sept. 1, 9 a.m.-noon, $60. Ages 18 and up.
*Watercolor, Tuesdays, July 5-26 and Aug. 9-30, 6:15-8:15 p.m. $70. Ages 16 and up.
*(New) Intermediate Watercolor, Wednesdays, July 6-27 and Aug. 10-31, 6:15-8:15 p.m. $70. Ages 16 and up.
*Spanish I, Fridays, June 3-July 29, 1-2:30 p.m. $100. Ages 16 and up.
Youth & family
*LEGO Robotics Workshop, Saturday, June 18, and Saturday, July 16, 1:30-3:30 p.m. $30. Ages 8 to 14.
*Launch It! Tuesday, June 14, 1:30-3:30 p.m. $20. Ages 6-14.
*Teen Trip to Golfland Sunsplash, Friday, June 17, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. $30. Ages 9-15.
*Family Fun Trip to Salt River Tubing, Saturday, July 23, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. $20. Ages 8 and up. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
MS Madness
These events are planned for students in sixth to eighth grade:
*Laser Tag, Thursday, June 23, 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Bus leaves promptly at 11:30 a.m. Free, and includes lunch at In & Out Burger. Limited to 40.
*IMAX Movie, Thursday, July 21, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (exact times and movie to be announced). Free and includes lunch at In & Out Burger. Space is limited.
*Skateland Mesa, Wednesday, Aug. 17, 4:30-8 p.m. Bus leaves promptly at 4:30 p.m. Free and includes dinner. Limited to the first 40 sign-ups.
