I certainly hope Town Council does not give serious consideration to the Tractor Supply proposal as presented. If one wanted to write a proposal for a facility design that was the most inappropriate and/or violated as many town guidelines as possible, the submitted plan would be a perfect template.
When the TS interest was first published I thought, “strange, but then perhaps the location near Beeline could be workable for a business of that nature.” But, painted cement block, black aluminum fencing, faux barn shutters, goose neck lighting and red tin awnings?
When other national Chains have come to town, they at least made an effort to blend. I seriously question whether any TS executive has ever visited our community and I cannot envision that facility fitting in anywhere along the entire length of Shea Blvd.

We need good retail partners who capture local business that otherwise goes out of town, but not at the expense of looking like a farm town strip mall.
