The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 7 substation based in Fountain Hills is reporting deputies responded to the following incidents that include six traffic collisions during the period from Thursday, Nov. 20, through Monday, Nov. 24. The report is abbreviated to meet holiday deadlines for The Times Independent.
Thursday, Nov. 20
*Deputies received a complaint at Avenue of the Fountains and Saguaro Boulevard that a vendor at the art festival overcharged the complainant for items purchased.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 7 substation based in Fountain Hills is reporting deputies responded to the following incidents that include six traffic collisions during the period from Thursday, Nov. 20, through Monday, Nov. 24. The report is abbreviated to meet holiday deadlines for The Times Independent.
Thursday, Nov. 20
*Deputies received a complaint at Avenue of the Fountains and Saguaro Boulevard that a vendor at the art festival overcharged the complainant for items purchased.
*Deputies responded to the 17000 block of Shea Blvd. where it was reported two unknown subjects shoplifted items from a business. The business was unwilling to aid in prosecution.
Friday, Nov. 21
*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of Glenbrook Blvd. where a single-vehicle traffic collision was reported. According to deputies, the driver fell asleep at the wheel and drifted into the front yard of a residence. No injuries were reported, the vehicle was not towed. No signs of impairment were observed by deputies.
*Deputies responded to Mountainside and Andrew drives for a reported single vehicle traffic collision. Deputies reported that the driver was distracted by wildlife, drifted off the roadway and struck a residential mailbox and a parked vehicle. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
Saturday, Nov. 22
*Deputies responded to Desert Canyon and Sundown drives where a traffic collision was reported. According to deputies a driver failed to yield from a stop sign and collided with another vehicle. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
*Deputies responded to Saguaro Boulevard and La Montana Drive for a reported hit and run traffic collision. Deputies said a driver failed to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and struck the pedestrian. The vehicle then fled the area. The pedestrian refused medical treatment, no other injuries were reported. No vehicles were towed.
Sunday, Nov. 23
*Deputies responded to Rand and Salida drives for a reported single vehicle traffic collision. According to deputies a driver made an unsafe turn, left the roadway and struck a landscaping boulder. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was not towed.
*Deputies responded to Fountain Hills and Glenbrook boulevards for a reported traffic collision. Deputies reported that a driver failed to yield from a stop sign and struck another vehicle. No injuries were reported, and one vehicle was towed from the scene.
*Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Stone View Trail where a domestic violence assault incident was reported. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.
*Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Blvd. where it was reported that an unknown subject attempted to fraudulently lure an employee of a business to remove money from the business safe and bring it to a location in Mesa.
*A resident 15000 block of Agape Court reported that an unknown subject stole jewelry from a residence after a pest control visit.
Monday, Nov. 24
*A deputy made a traffic stop for criminal speed on McDowell Mountain Road MP2. According to deputies the driver was traveling 72 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50. The driver was issued a criminal citation.
*Deputies responded to the 14000 block of Teakwood Lane where a residential fire was reported. Fountain Hills Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire that resulted in property damage. Deputies reported that one pet dog was found deceased because of the fire.
*Deputies responded to the 17000 block of Oro Grande Drive where it was reported that a pet dog escaped from a residence and attacked another dog on a walk near the residence. Both dog owners received minor injuries while stopping the dog fight. The case referred to animal control.
