Trained seals

We’re past the point of using the excuse “it’s the politicians’ fault.” We’ve given politicians unrestricted access to our property and liberties to do with what they will. Even though they’ve failed miserably, politicians still have an unchallenged domain. Once we had the protection and freedom promised in the Constitution and believed in by Americans. Now we have neither.

I’m astonished at the continuing election of unethical, untalented, career minded, narcissistic politicians who show no duty to country or constituents. Remember the popular saying we told our children, “don’t take candy from strangers.” Hello? How about the oft used street philosophy that says, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” Well shame on us, what are we a bunch of trained seals?

I was dumbfounded to hear about a U.S. city that felt it had too many white lifeguards at its public pools. A problem was uncovered however, not enough blacks, Latinos and Asians are qualified.

A city official stated, “The kids in the pool are all either Hispanic or black or whatever, and every lifeguard is white and we don’t like that.”

I need a show of hands here: who saw this huge problem lurking about and ruining our lives? Which of you agree with the politicians, to potentially hire unqualified minorities and possibly risking someone’s life? And who believes it’s a small price to pay to make sure these city officials stay employed as decision makers?

Benjamin Franklin said: “He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.”

Ignorance is usually innocent, but stupidity comes with experience. There are no more excuses. No more time to think about it. As long as we keep acting like trained seals, they will keep tossing us those horrible dead fish (stinking decisions).
