This letter is presented to support Ginny Dickey, who is running for mayor of Fountain Hills.

Ms. Dickey is specifically the best candidate to help overcome a problem that concerns most of my neighbors and friends: The town council’s chronic lack of transparency in performing the public’s business.

My fellow citizens complain repeatedly that on many occasions the council brings forward half-baked ideas that seem to hatch out of the blue. Where is the vetting? Where is the full and careful deliberation in open meetings that are publicized in advance? The era of peek-a-boo government in Fountain Hills must be ended.

Ginny Dickey has established a personal record of supporting open meetings. She stands for conducting the public’s business where all of us know the agenda and have full access to the deliberations.

If the voters of Fountain Hills support the proposed primary property tax, Ginny Dickey’s instincts for openness and transparency will be critical for all of us to judge the spending decisions made by the council.

Join me in supporting a homegrown champion of fully visible government. Vote for Ginny Dickey!
