Town Manager Grady Miller told the Town Council Sept. 18, that after one such eucalyptus fell during a storm in August he became concerned about safety with the two remaining large trees and said he said he wanted to remove the other trees.
A tree contractor was brought in and the trees were felled.
Staff has said the trees will be replaced with something more appropriate for the site.
The trees were planted with the development of the Avenue more than 40 years ago.
