Bruce Bartlett, a senior advisor for the elder Bush, said this about Trump:
“The Trump phenome-non perfectly represents the culmination of popu-lism and anti-intellectualism that be-came dominant in the Re-publican Party with the rise of the Tea Party. I think many Republican leaders have had deep misgivings about the Tea Party since the beginning, but the short-term bene-fits were too great to re-sist. A Trump rout is Re-publican moderates’ best chance to take back the GOP.”
The Republican Party has descended to the low-est common denominator.

Trump’s campaign is just another reality show, but here are some facts -- He brags of being a busi-nessman, but inherited millions to start, and his businesses have gone bankrupt four times.
He supports “tradition-al” marriage, but has been married three times. Apparently traditional means one man and three women for Trump.
He bashes China for “stealing” American jobs, but his clothing line is made in China.
He says he would in-crease jobs, but has asked for special visas to bring workers to his resorts (many from the Philip-pines), rather than hiring American workers.
