The most important lesson my father taught me was honesty. It has served me well as a Royal Marine Commando Officer for 10 years and in sales for 31 years.
When a former manager asked me what the most important asset for someone in my position I blurted out honesty. He never told me what the “right” answer was but if you lose the trust of your customer due to your actions there will be doubt for evermore.
I do not know Councilman Brown but I have known Mayor Kavanagh and Cecil Yates for many years and I trust them. After watching a replay twice of the Oct. 3 council meeting online I felt it important to investigate the accusations further made by Robert Wilson and Mike Archambault.

After studying documents which included a meeting of Kavanagh, Yates and Brown and the Park Place representatives it became apparent that the facts don’t lie, particularly when the complete report is read and phrases are not cherry picked. In fact, it is dishonest and inexcusable to use words like “shenanigans” and “kangaroo court”, as Robert Wilson did without any foundation.
The evidence shows that the three members of the council did not discuss the payment of fees in the meeting as they were accused of doing. There was no foundation for the reprehensible attacks on these individuals’ integrity.
We also need to remember the source of the ongoing furor created towards the council; a former councilman who failed in a recent election running on his previous record, along with Ginny Dickey, a failed mayoral candidate.
As to the behavior of the town legal representative there appears to be were plenty of examples of inappropriate and misleading actions taken to cause a lack of confidence and trust in him. As I said that’s the bottom line.
