Two brothers open Social Thrift in Fountain Hills

Nonprofit promotes social media safety and responsibility

More than 12 years ago, Youtubers Rhett and Link brought into this world a slice of comedic genius when they produced a commercial for Chuck Testa, owner of Ojai Valley Taxidermy.

In the minute-long commercial, Testa wears the now infamous Ojai Valley Taxidermy shirt and World War II cap and presents a handsomely taxidermied pheasant; items that are now on display in the recently established Social Media Hall of Fame (SMHOF) in Fountain Hills.

“Baseball has a Hall of Fame. Football has a Hall of Fame. Social media has gotten so big and all these kids look up to these influencers, but they don’t have a hall of fame,” Clayton Smith said, board member of the nonprofit organization that has a mission of educating local youth on the safety and responsibility of social media.
