Fire Chief Randy Roberts said that around noon on Sunday a bicyclist crashed on a trail in the park. The patient had to be located with the assistance of Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office helicopter.
The chopper helped evacuate the patient and flew them to a landing zone at Fountain Hills High School. There the patient was treated and transported by ground ambulance to a Scottsdale hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Roberts.

Two hurt in bicycle crashes in McDowell Park

The second incident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. with a second bicycle crash in the park. Fountain Hills and Rio Verde Fire District personnel worked together to locate the patient and remove them from the trail.
The second patient was also transported by ground ambulance to a Scottsdale hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
