In regard to the lights at Fountain Park, I have been reading all opposition and hesitating to write because I knew nothing would be done.

But now I feel I must give my opinion along with the others. The lights are not ugly, but so close together that it takes away from the beauty of the park. I used to walk the park morning and evening with my dog and will not go to the park any longer.

To Janis Gagner, who writes that not only are they beautiful but a protection and that people who now avoid the park just do not wish to walk at night at all, suggesting they are lazy. Well, I do avoid the park because of these gorgeous lights and walk at night in my very dark neighborhood, unafraid.

Her out of town friends who thought it was eerie previously only proves that they are afraid of the dark, as most likely she is. Why do we care what out-of-towners think anyway? They do not pay for our town improvements.

Town Council, get off your seats and walk the park during the day to look at the ugly!
