Unbelievable

I just finished reading the Vision Fountain Hills article in The Times and I am amazed that, regarding the funding of Fountain Hills services, that one of the ideas was to institute “having the retail/businesses pay for fire protection.”

Just how much more do you think the businesses can afford to pay in taxes, licensing fees, property taxes, environmental fees and already a fire department fee to inspect our business?

Most of the businesses in this town struggle to remain here and to pay our employees, let along give numerous donations to every service club, school functions, etc.

Look around, people. There is a reason for so many empty retail spaces: Lack of local support and being burdened with too many government expenses.
