Unnecessary

Several years ago local activist and businessman, Larry Meyers, predicted the ultimate demise of the Target shopping center. Larry told us that the business outlets in that shopping center would “pack it in” and relocate elsewhere. How accurate he was! At this time, more than half of the original stores have closed or relocated.

Today, as plans are progressing toward the construction of another “old folks residence” in defiance of the original town’s coding restrictions at the Saguaro entrance to Trevino Drive, once again caring residents are predicting lower home valuations on this street if this architectural monstrosity is approved by the town council.

If this oversized commercial building is approved close to one of the main entrances to our beautiful town, the “retirement” label will once again return to our community!

Our town now has more than several assisted living structures for needy seniors. However, to build another gigantic commercial structure on residential Trevino Drive would turn that peaceful street into a high volume trucking center, given all of the other commercial businesses in close proximity.

To create this unnecessary structure would lower the property values of all the lovely home on not only Trevino, but also Burkemo, Littler, Lima Cr., Nicklaus, Nelson, Monterey, Greenbrier and Jacklin Drives, just to name a few.

In closing, we are requesting that the members of the Planning and Zoning Commission and our town council do the right thing on behalf of our town’s people and vote no on this needless structure. Thank you.
