Unofficial election results show mayoral lead for Dickey

After a long, grueling campaign, Ginny Dicky has taken the lead to become the new mayor of Fountain Hills based on unofficial election numbers released at about 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, Aug. 28.
Dickey leads candidate Cecil Yates to replace the retiring Mayor, Linda Kavanagh, as of December. Dickey received 2,582 votes to Yates’ for 2,303.
Those receiving the most votes for the three council seats up for grabs were Mike Scharnow, David Spelich and Alan Magazine. They received 2,575, 2,341 and 2,322 votes, respectively.

Candidate Sharron Grybowski received 1,941 votes while Gerry Friedel received 1,729 and Marcus Bulow von Dennewitz received 1,679.
