The possibility of a primary property tax in Fountain Hills is a pretty big matter that will affect all residents. Whether or not such a measure is implemented will have a huge impact on the future of our community, too.
While the potential tax is already being hashed out through advertisements and letters to the editor, there’s still a lot of discussion that need to be had. More importantly, there are a lot of questions that still need to be answered.
That process is scheduled to begin next Tuesday evening, Nov. 21, at the town council meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Town Hall. While we will certainly provide ongoing coverage throughout the process, we’d encourage folks to either attend the meeting, check it out via local television broadcasts or visit the “Town of Fountain Hills” page on YouTube to witness the meeting firsthand.

This is only the beginning of the discussion but, if the council decides to go through with a primary property tax election, now would be a good time to start getting your information directly from the source.
From social media to word of mouth, it can be hard to make sure you’re getting accurate information these days. With a matter as important as a potential primary property tax, we all have to take some responsibility in order to keep ourselves informed. We can’t rely on “well, I heard on Facebook” for something like this.
So check out the meeting, read our coverage and, if you have questions in the coming months, be sure to ask them.
