UPDATE: Three Juveniles involved in electric bike, vehicle collision in Fountain Hills

E-bike riders suffered minor injuries

Just before 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, Maricopa County Sheriff Office deputies responded to a vehicle collision involving an electric bike and a motor vehicle near the intersection of Del Cambre Avenue and Alamosa Avenue.

The Town previously reported two 11-year old females were involved but the MCSO report states the electric bike was operated by a 9-year old female with a 12-year old female passenger. The two were traveling eastbound on Alamosa Avenue toward Four Peaks Park when the driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign and entered the intersection.

The report states at the same time a Toyota Camry, operated by a 17-year-old male, was traveling southbound on Del Cambre Avenue. The driver of the vehicle attempted to swerve to avoid the collision but the electric bike subsequently collided with the rear end of the Toyota.
